Vicky Steane
Vicky Steane is a writer, illustrator and painter from the Eel Pie Island Artists collective. As a former resident of 18 years, she has run Tyler Studios, the established picture framing gallery, for over ten years. There she creates be-spoke picture frames for the public by appointment and for museums and commercial artists. She also sells her own artwork and will be again displaying in a new gallery, opening soon..

"My artistic journey began as a child, until my late teens when I had my own painting and framing studio on the famous Eel Pie Island on the Thames for 18 years, and now live in the countryside.
I use a wide range of mixed media materials to suit each piece. Everything I make is unique.. and some I turned into clothing and accessories..
As an artist, I'm passionate about transformation, my work spans multiple mediums, and I love creating pieces that brighten moods and transform spaces..
My collections include The London Travel Card Map, Barcelona, Goa, Mix Tape and many others, with more to follow... watch this space!"
Working with Renowned Artists & Institutions
She received prestigious training in conservation picture-framing, and an education in high-end gallery artwork while at John Jones of London. It was there that she framed work for The Tate Gallery, Getty Images, The Saatchi Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery, to name a few.

Professional Recognition
There she was in charge of original works by Picasso, Lowry and Damien Hurst. In 2004 Vicky was nominated for an award by the Wandsworth Youth Enterprise Center for a comic book that she wrote and illustrated to raise awareness of depression in young people. This accolade inspired her to continue writing and illustrating a further five books, three of which are part of the Little Robot Stories series.
